From the Earth Summit, this site explains in clear terms what was decided in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 1992, at the largest-ever meeting of world leaders. At this Earth Summit, 179 countries agreed on a blueprint for ways to make the future development of our world economically, socially, and environmentally sound and sustainable.
